Sell Used Cisco Hardware instead of throwing it away
So what does your business do when it no longer requires it’s network hardware? There can be many reasons for wanting to get rid of a piece of kit – sometimes you have expanded your business and need more powerful hardware, or sometimes in the unfortunate event of a business having to scale back its operations pieces of hardware are no longer required. However in this event the hardware will probably still be working, and as Cisco produce high quality hardware it probably has a long time left before it packs up.
There are a couple of disposal options available in this situation. The first is to simply leave it in a store room, which means that perfectly good equipment is just sitting there unused. This is not very cost effective as it was probably quite expensive to buy it in the first place! Another option is to throw it in the bin, and wait for it to be taken away and thrown into a landfill site. Cisco hardware does not strike one as being very biodegradable, so will more than likely not be able to be recycled.
The other option, one that cancels out all of the negative aspects of the other two, is to sell used cisco hardware on to a company that will recycle it and resell it. There are two reasons for this and one is very obvious – money. You can make back a bit of the money you spent on the original hardware, which is very cost effective and there is no reason for you to be leaving unused hardware lying around taking up space.
